April Gargiulo: founder of Vintner’s Daughter

How do you see skincare as an element of health and wellness?

Skin is your largest organ and responsible for protecting and helping to detoxify the body. There are many ways to maintain health and balance in skin from diet to exercise to the products you use. This is where wellness and skincare meet. Imbalances often show themselves in the skin. It is why we approach skincare from a nutritional angle and work to give the skin everything it needs to be its most healthy through whole plants and performance-driven plant actives.

Why did you decide to come out with a second product after such success with your serum?

Both our first product, Active Botanical Serum and our second product, Active Treatment Essence begin with the world’s most nutrient-rich whole plants. We take those whole plants and put them through our 21 day Phyto Radiance Infusion process so that we can capture the full spectrum of nutrition from these incredible plants. It is this time-honored, gentle approach that allows us to have a direct communication with the skin to affect transformational change.

What is important to know is that in nature nutrients are either oil soluble or water soluble. So, during the Phyto Radiance Infusion process with Active Botanical Serum we are able to gather all of the oil soluble nutrition and during the Phyto Radiance Infusion process for Active Treatment Essence we are capturing all the water soluble nutrition. The two products are each other’s perfect complement and when used one after the other deliver not only complete nutrition but also deep hydration, multi-correctional moisture and the most performance-driven plant actives. In two simple yet effective steps, Active Treatment Essence followed by Active Botanical Serum, your skin receives everything it needs to be its most radiant, healthy and beautiful.

I loved seeing the launch of your Vida Series and can’t wait to see more. Why was doing this important to you?

We are not a company that was invented by a marketing concept or in a boardroom. As such, our philosophy and products are not easily told in 140 characters or less. We need room and space to express all the aspects of our mission and products from our uncompromising performance and sourcing to our commitment to sustainability and diversity.

How is sun safety part of your beauty and wellness routine?

I wear a physical sunscreen of course, and hats are huge for me. I love them, especially beautifully made hats. One of my favorite hat designers is Janessa Leone. I covet them all.

What impact do you hope Vintner’s Daughter makes on people and the beauty industry?

So much of traditional skincare is about creating a fear or struggle with our skin. I hope that we can shine a light on what true beauty is, namely confidence and a sense of worth, and help our customers celebrate their beautiful skin no matter the age, issue, tone or gender.

SHINE SAFE PLEDGE

Your content has
influence, and that power
can save lives.

I promise to promote healthy sun safe practices by not encouraging, in both word and image, tanning (whether outside in the sun or in tanning salons). By producing and distributing conscious content around sun safety, I hope to inspire people to protect themselves and significantly diminish their risk of being affected by skin cancer.
